Element table sources

Source record for the PeriodicTable in VoxelSandbox.Chemistry (MASTERPLAN §28.1). This is the ground truth the atom-conservation invariant is measured against, so every value here is cited before it becomes product content. Consolidate this file into CHEMISTRY_SOURCES.md once that document’s in-flight C0 edits have landed.

  • Source: IUPAC, “Standard atomic weights of the elements 2021”, Pure and Applied Chemistry 94(5):573–600 (2022), and the CIAAW abridged table derived from it.
  • URL: https://ciaaw.org/atomic-weights.htm
  • The stored value is the IUPAC conventional single value for each element (the abridged five-significant-figure form where an interval is published). It is used only for molar mass; it is never used for isotope work, which the MVP does not model (§28.9, §40.6).
Z Symbol Conventional atomic weight (g/mol)
1 H 1.008
6 C 12.011
7 N 14.007
8 O 15.999

16 S 32.06
19 K 39.0983
20 Ca 40.078

  • Used by redox bookkeeping (§28.6); stored as NaN for any element with no accepted value (none in the current MVP set).
  • Source: NIST Atomic Spectra Database, ground-state configurations; cross-checked against the CIAAW periodic table. Cu is recorded with its real [Ar] 3d10 4s1 anomaly, not the naive 3d9 4s2.
  • Descriptive only — used by the journal’s periodic table (§34.2), not by the solver.

Exactly the 14 stage-1 MVP elements of §36.2. The registry is append-only: later stages add rows, never remove or renumber them.
